New Moulding for 2014

Are we all out of our winter hibernation? I’m sure nature is farther along for many of you, but here in Chicago we’re just beginning to see daffodils and tiny green buds on the trees. It’s something to celebrate after such a long cold winter. All this blooming and sprouting color has us excited to deliver new product that will add new life to both your shop walls and your customer’s walls at home. We’d like to introduce you to four new lines which debuted at the Vegas WCAF last January.

SHIMMY

Who could not get excited for a frame named for a burlesque dance move and with a finish like the stage lights reflecting off of swirling fringe and teasing tassels? These six frames have a little flavor of nostalgia from the era of silent cinema and flappers doing the Charleston. Made in six vintage inspired colors, they pair beautifully with the dreamy quality found in so much contemporary photography. Shimmy has a silver metal leaf finish with multiple layers of hand-applied paint adding depth and interest. Bonus: 5 of the 6 colors available as stock photo frames.

ZIA

Zia is your favorite Italian Aunt; easy-going, sweet, and lovingly familiar. Zia is made up of six every-day useful colors in a delicately tiny and classical good-for-anything profile. The foil finishes over finger-joined pine make for a very affordable collection. Bonus: 5 of the 6 colors available as stock photo frames.

VALENTINE

Ready for a romantic weekend getaway in the French countryside – but where there’s free wifi? That’s what the Valentine collection is like; a lovely mix of sleek and shine with an antique touch of romance. Valentine’s hues are a Lipstick Red, Blushing Pink, Powder Blue, Nautical Grey and Bright White. The paint finish is applied directly to the raw wood and dramatically yet strategically burnt away with a torch for a French cottage shabby chic effect. A final coat of gloss lacquer over all creates a very durable and long-lasting product. Bonus: All 5 colors available as stock photo frames.

OAXACA

Pronounced wa-HAH-ka, this is a region of Mexico well-known for its wealth of culture. Oaxaca is the creative tourist’s dream land of arts and crafts, dance and music. In particular, the distinctive style of black pottery from this region has inspired this line of mouldings, all with a hand-made sensibility. Oaxaca frames are available in a ceramic black finish, a bright silver reminiscent of Mexican sterling jewelry and a bright gold like the treasures sought by Coronado and his conquistadors. Oaxaca frames are gesso coated and foiled to create rich textures that are still well-priced.
