Winter 2021 Creations Winner!
CONGRATULATIONS to AMY and CHAD
of Four Corners; Tampa, FL
Chloe, the three year old Australian Labradoodle shop dog, is a framing man’s best friend. Her owner Chad has been in business fifteen years and in the industry for twenty-five. If Chloe could talk, oh the frame shop tales she could tell! We’d like to tell you that Chad and Amy told Chloe to “Go get the right frame, girl!” and Chloe pulled these frame samples off the wall and brought them over to the design counter, but that’s not exactly the story.
Chloe’s superfine portrait was commissioned from the Cuban artist Ubaldo Fernandez. When Four Corners first received samples of the hand-finished Bella Castelli collection, Chad had his keen framer’s eye on the Burnt Bronze Curve profile. He knew he wanted to use that frame on something special but didn’t immediately know what that would be. When the portrait was done, it all became clear!
Chad and the team knew they wanted a frame design that would not detract. The texture and tone of the frame along with curved shape complement Miss Chloe’s adorable fuzzy little round face. To bring it all together and pull the eye into the painting, Chad, Amy and team chose an inner frame from the Abalone collection which brings out the highlights in Chloe’s coat. Four Corners is a team of five and all of the staff had a hand in approving the design.
The team at Four Corners report that they have previously paired the beautiful organic textures of the wide Castelli curved profile with a Leroy Neiman with similar colors and been able to put the smaller profiles in the collection to stunning use on multiple pieces.
Initially Chloe’s portrait was intended to hang in Chad’s home but it turned out so nice that she is instead now proudly displayed in the shop as a gallery sample to highlight the creative and artistic framing staff at Four Corners in Tampa.
Bonus Round: We spied on Insta another Chloe puppy portrait also expertly framed in a Bella selection from the Quarry collection. Go team Four Corners!
