New Bella SPRING 2023 - Kubik, Raku and Luna
Making a good thing even better is definitely a philosophy we embrace. Which is why with every new intro season, we share not only brand new lines, but additions to tried and true favorites. This time around, we’re elevating fan favorites with additions to the Kubik, Raku and Luna lines.
KUBIK
We first launched the Scandi-flavored KUBIK back in 2017 and it was an instant hit thanks to its natural appeal and minimalistic elegance. Originally inspired by Scandavia’s focus on home and family, as well as traditional craftsmanship, the aesthetic took off in North America thanks to prominent 1950s tastemaker and House Beautiful editor Elizabeth Gordon. Though minimal and pared down, Kubik is definitely not lacking in character and thanks to its simplistic nature allows all kinds of art to shine. Our 2023 reinvention includes four brand new finishes in the existing cube and tall cap profiles - Stone Oak, Autumn Walnut, Sturdy Cherry and Woodland Walnut. We’ve also added one new profile, a mid-size block with a 1 3/16” face, now in all eight finishes.
We think it looks great framed on playful abstract prints or a bit bolder on wood carved pieces, but it would also be an elegant pairing with vintage or black and white photography for a more minimal aesthetic.
RAKU and LUNA
We’re also excited to be bringing you fresh takes on two of our most popular lines, RAKU and LUNA. Since first introduced in 2017, Raku has become a Bella fave thanks to its unique and iridescent colors. Handmade in Italy, our Raku frames achieve that depth of color through a hand-oxidizing copper-leaf process which results in dynamic variations and a perfectly imperfect finish when the color is applied.
A new Amber Orange color would add a bright pop to any piece and is available in the existing four profiles. Even better? New floater frames are available in the new Amber Orange finish, as well as the existing finishes of Sparta Gold, Copper Flame, Copper Red, Cobalt Blue and Feldspar Green.
A second trip to the moon was in order for an evolution on our Luna line, which means moon in Italian. Inspired by the groovy space age style of the 1960s, the Luna collection is the natural cousin to Raku but in a more neutral selection of colors such as black, brown, gray and tan - and now a newly added Silver Moonwalk Nebula Floater. And like Raku, the final look comes via a hand-applied wash of color over oxidized real silver leaf - a process which yields uniquely individual sticks and tons of #BellaBeautiful variations.
Raku and Luna look great on all types of artwork thanks to its patina-ed vintage vibes, but we especially love it as a tool to highlight pieces as unique as it is, such as a collection of vintage glass baubles.
