Seven years, two expansions and one thing is clear: Porter has staying power.
First introduced in 2019, our Porter collection has proven so popular that we’ve already expanded it once. And apparently, we still haven’t reached the end of the line. This summer, we’re welcoming four new Porter profiles aboard.
MEET THE NEW PORTER
For those who may not remember Porter’s original departure, let’s take a quick trip back in time. The collection takes its cues from Streamline Moderne, the sleek, aerodynamic style of Art Deco that brought curves, strong horizontal lines and a sense of speed to architecture and industrial design in the 1930s.
The style made its American debut at Chicago’s 1933–34 World’s Fair, just as trains and automobiles were being reimagined with smoother, more dynamic lines. The great streamliner trains soon became icons of modern travel, complete with the Pullman Porters who helped define the golden age of rail.
Our Porter translates that streamlined glamour into mixed metallics, pairing gold with silver accents and silver with touches of gold. The result is a collection that manages to feel both vintage and modern, glamorous and understated - and, as the last seven years have demonstrated, incredibly versatile.
For Porter’s latest stop, we’re adding eight new mouldings across four profiles, all staying true to the collection’s signature gold-and-silver palette. The new Streamliner Express profiles make a statement at 1 13/16" and an extra-bold 2 3/4", while the slimmer 3/4" Streamliner Club Car Cap and 11/16" Streamliner High Angle bring new opportunities for layering, dimension and detail.
And where can Porter take you? Just about anywhere.
We gave a delicate pearl watch the golden treatment for a presentation that feels part frame, part jewelry box. A fantastically illustrated knight gets a gleaming silver surround, while a graphic Chicago subway tile piece feels especially at home in a collection with roots that lead straight back to the 1933 World’s Fair. And paired with a vintage botanical print, Porter’s warm gold finish proves that all that streamlined geometry can have a softer side too.
