CONGRATULATIONS to BEN MORRISON

Ben’s customer is the second generation in the family to do custom framing at his shop. She is a young francophile and lover of all things Parisian who enjoys the process of custom framing pieces for her apartment in Boston. She was gifted this vintage map of Paris and brought it to Relics for help creating a display that would both make a statement and last a lifetime. The final winning design is….how do you say….magnifique?
The frame design resulted from a collaboration between Ben, the client and her interior designer (also a frequent Relics customer). They made the decision to frame the piece and then float the framing on a lovely and rich warm grey silk base protected by an acrylic case to give the impression of a museum display.
The chosen Bella frame is from the Abalone collection. The finish and color match the taupe quadrants in the map perfectly and the linear elements on the frame suggest the multiple angles and uneven cobblestones of the streets of Paris.
Ben says this profile in the Abalone line is a frequent go-to, particularly for stacked designs. A favorite project used this same thin profile mounted inside a floater frame for a unique look. And Ben has another Abalone project in the works which should be appearing on his shops social page soon!
We asked Ben if he had anything else to add and he said, “We appreciate Bella! Not only does Bella have great moulding, but they have great people. We are always impressed with the mouldings and the customer care we receive”. Aw, shucks…Thanks Ben.
This is Ben’s third win in the Bella Creations contest. He was our first ever Creations winner back in 2015 for his subtle pair of Prismas and his Stanley Floater “Goldfinch” won in 2019. He’s got the touch!
Congratulations again to Ben on the Spring Bella Creations Contest win! Ben is now the first entry in our grand prize contest for a free trip to WCAF Vegas in January 2021! (In the event that WCAF is canceled or postponed, there will be cash prize instead! Woot woot!)
