New Bella SPRING 2022 - Frida
They say the best things comes to those who wait, and we have to say, we think you’re pretty wonderful for waiting patiently for our next Bella introductions. Today, we’re so excited to share the first of our new spring 2022 lines, Frida. In addition to this colorful collection, we’ve got some great, well-rounded looks coming your way over the next few weeks with vibes full of baroque feels, smooth and art-deco inspired, metallics and texture and yes, even one sparkly upgrade.
Up first? The colorful and pattern-filled Frida, an homage to her famous namesake.
The vibrancy, pain and passion of Mexican painter Frida Kahlo has inspired the culture in so many ways over the years - from fashion and film to (of course) art and even garden planters. She is widely celebrated as a Mexican icon and praised for her truthful depiction of the female experience and form. Of her approximately 150 paintings, 55 are self-portraits, and much of her work masters the combination of striking colors with Mexican folk style.
The vibrancy of colors available in our Frida collection is a clear tribute to her namesake, as is the intricate embossed floral pattern used throughout. There are two profiles - a slimmer 11/16" cap which comes in 13 different color ways ranging from a deep Black Magic to a punchy Corazon. The larger 1 15/16" block comes in seven colors with a more muted palette of blacks, whites, metallics and one aubergine-esque Hummingbird hue.
Clearly, Frida would pair well with any sort of vibrant, colorful art and be a welcome addition to the on-point maximalist design aesthetic. Portraits, or even vintage photography, would look great as well, but we found that colorful word art pieces popped using Frida in an extra special way. (Lucky you, right?) Don’t sleep on this intricate design as an option for a custom mirror either. A bold color could be the focal point of any room, while the more muted palette and metallics would let the embossed detail shine through.
