New Bella SPRING 2022 - Daphne
Continuing in our series highlighting our Spring 2022 introductions we’ve got some dramatic additions to our popular Daphne line. If you recall pre-pandemic times (does anyone?!) way back in 2018, we got all Professor Bella on you and shared a little journey into Greek mythology as the back story to our new Daphne collection. Lesson distilled: Daphne was named for the ancient Greek nymph who was transformed into a laurel tree and is now a lovely collection of hand-finished frames made in Italy. Our original collection included six jewel-like tones ranging from Ebony Rose to Royal Heather. The true beauty of Daphne is not just in her colors, but in how the hand-finished application of patinas over a base gold-leaf looks old (in the best possible way, of course) and fresh at the same time.
Fast forward to 2022 and our girl Daphne is getting a lot more drama – perhaps an homage to the last four years’ journey? A thicker 1 ¼” block is perfect as a dramatic frame on vintage prints, black and white photography, and more. It’s available in four colors from Dark Crimson Bay Leaf to Chiffon Gold Leaf, all with a rich berry accent that gives it that perfectly patinaed Daphne look.
The petite Daphne in a 5/8” block is getting four additional colors to play with, from Pharaoh Green to Cerulean Blue. As you may or may not know, we’re huge fans of petite Daphne as accents inside a larger frame to add that extra touch of – what else – drama.
