Pat's swimmingly playful Prisma was selected as the winner of our Winter Bella Creations Contest. The Facebook voting public found nothing fishy about Pat's design.
Pat has developed quite a following at her shop among local needlepoint enthusiasts. This piece was crafted by a long time customer who always trusts Pat's framing recommendations. The carp in the piece are entirely beaded and the bubble rings are covered with a metallic cob-web stitch. These textural details give the art a 3 dimensional quality which they were eager to highlight with the frame design.
Pat's customer was drawn to the corner sample on the wall of the Prisma Waves pattern but was concerned about the potential cost. Pat expertly redirected her by concentrating on the benefits and explaining how the frame pattern paired perfectly with the stitching as well as the overall look. They then loaded the design into the Prisma Visualizer to allow the customer to further appreciate the design before focusing on the cost.
Pat says that Prisma is a great match with the more modern creative style of needlepoint patterns that are being published. Particularly when beading is a component, the shine of the Prisma acrylic and bright colors work really well. Besides other needlepoints, Pat has also sold Prisma on a sheet of Wonder Woman stamps, various photographs and in particular degrees from the University of Tennessee. (Seems the Prisma Tangerine color is the perfect shade of orange.)
This is Pat's second creation winning entry. She says she is ecstatic to have her work recognized and LOVES working with Bella. "It’s always fantastic framing!"
